The elderly forum of the State of Ondo has declared its confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will ensure an overwhelming victory in the 2027 general elections.
When leaving a meeting in Akure, the facilitator of the forum, Chief Adela Ijabiyi, said that Ondo remains a strength of the president and will deliver “absolute figures” in the next elections.
Ijabiyi said: “Ondo is the basis of Tinubu. We have almost two million registered voters. We must not settle for percentages; we must deliver in number.
“Our elders are still political in their communities, and we are determined to mobilize that force.”
Ijabiyi praised the president for his appointments and projects in progress in the state of Ondo, emphasizing that the State was “as good as cattle” for Tinubu.
He urged the Elders of APC to adopt constructive criticism, describing their roles as coaches, mentors and counselors for younger party members.
In his comments, the forum leader, the head of Erastus Akeju, requested the unity among the interested parties of the party, warning that internal clashes in the bases could weaken support.
Akeju said: “We must do everything to ensure that President Tinubu wins more than before in the 18 areas of the local government of this state.”
In addition, he described Tinubu as a Yoruba politician whose political progress must be defended and promoted, urging members to support APC representatives from the level of unity to the federal structure.
Other elders at the meeting advised the aggrieved members to boost their differences in the general interest of the party before 2027.
The meeting caused outstanding political figures of the 18 areas of the local government of the State of Ondo, including former main judge Judge Sehinde Kumuyi; First Woman Secretary of the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; Former Education Commissioner, Pastor Femi Aagu; Former member of the House of Representatives, Excmo. Mayowa Akinfolarin; Former President of the State PDP, Excmo. Ebenezer Alabi; Chief Korede Duyile; Boss Bailey Arohunmolase; Chief Femi Bakare; Senator Yle Omogunwa; Chief Olabisi Johnson; Princess Bukky Abike Oluderu; Former Vice President, Hon. Samuel Aderoboye; Chief Bode Sunmonu; and the Hon. Nimbe Tawose.
