The heads of the Community (Baales) in Osoagbo, the capital of the state of Osun, have put their weight behind the Osoagbo elderly council, insisting that the 2026 governorate ticket of the main political parties must be in Osoagbo areas.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has arranged on Saturday, August 8, 2026 for the state government elections.
Speaking in Oroki Asala, a current issuance program on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), the Baale de Gbodophon and the president of the Baales Council in Osogbo, the high chief Jimoh Ibrahim, emphasized that the city is now more united than never under the demand to produce a governor.
He accredited the bear ataja, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, for establishing the Osoagbo Action Committee and the Osogbo Elderly Council to end the political divisions that had previously weakened the possibilities of Osogbo producing a governor.
Ibrahim emphasized that the stresses of the Ataoja have already thrown results, with Osoagbo speaking in one voice before 2026.
“The Nursing Board has successfully linked all the Baales in Osoagbo. As president of the Boales Council, I affirm that we are solidly behind them in this call so that an indigenous Being Emerge emerges as governor. We will play our role for this to happen,” he said.
Similarly, Prince Adelev Oduola Ibiloye, president of the Osogbo Elderly Council, reiterated that the long -standing bear support for other cities must now be reciprocal.
“We have firmly behind others in the past. Now is the time for the rest of Osun to support Osoagbo. The 2026 governorate space should be ours, and we are determined to update it,” he said.
With leading indigenous Bears who already look at tickets in the Congress of all progressives (APC), the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the community leaders expressed optimism that the era of the exclusion of Bear of the Government Seat will finally come to its end in 2026.
