The Osogbo Federal High Court convicted and sentenced the duo of Wasiu Asimolowo, 36, and Abdulkareem Abubakar, 33, to three years in prison on two counts of illegal trafficking and adulteration of automobile diesel (AGO).

Illegal transactions and the adulteration of petroleum products are contrary to Section 1, Subsections 17 and 18 of the Misdemeanor Act of 1999.

The conviction with indictment number FHC / OS / 79C / 2013: FRN v WASIU ASIMOLOWO & ANOTHER that had a fine option of N500,000: 00 was secured by the Legal Unit of the Osun State Command of the Security and Defense Corps Nigerian Civil (NSCDC).

In the judgment that was read by Judge Ayo Emmanuel, the court also ordered the confiscation of two tanker trucks with registration numbers XQ 198 KSF and LSR 938 XJ from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the adulterated diesel contained in the truck compartments. tanker was destroyed by the Nigerian Civil Defense and Security Corps.

The duo were arrested in Baruwa Street, Ogo-Oluwa Area, Osogbo on November 9, 2013.

While answering questions from journalists at the end of the trial, the Commander of Osun, NSCDC, Emmanuel Ocheja advised against such acts as they are detrimental to the national economy.

While he asked for immediate information from the public to nip such acts of sabotage in the bud, he revealed that the adulterated fuel has caused much damage and pain in many homes.
