The Governor of the State of ENUGU, Dr. Peter MBAH, says that he completely supports the position of the National Labor Committee (NWC), the Board of Trustees and the Zonal Executive Committee of Southeast (ZEC) of the Southeast Democratic Party (PDP) of the Southeast on the crisis that swings the party.
MBAH also expressed his support for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, saying that although he was still a member of the PDP, he was “fed up with the pranks that have turned the party more or less an endless circus.”
The governor, who announced his position to the journalists after a meeting behind closed doors with Governor Seyi Makinde of the State of Oyo; President of the PDP Trustee Board, Senator Adolphus Wabara; And the zonal president of the southeast of the party, the chief Ali Odefa, among others, at the Government's house, Enugu on Sunday, also maintained that the position of the Southeast ZEC of the PDP to review his future with the party if his position on the issue of the national secretary was not honored remained sacrosanizing.
“For registration, as I said during my interactive session with fellows and members of the Nigerian editors guild in ENUGU over the weekend, while I am still a member of the PDP, the southeast, and that includes me, reserves the right to review our continuous membership of the party if the party is not willing to put its home in order.
“That was invariably the position adopted during our last Zonal Meeting of the Southeast held here in Enugu. During that meeting, Caucus said the party should not ignore the position of the area with respect to the position of the national secretary.
“For all purposes, this obviously has not been the case. Therefore, there is no doubt where I am in the matter.
“The position of the southeast with respect to the National Secretariat of the party issued in that statement is sacrosanct,” he said.
Other PDP bosses at the meeting include former national president and member of the Bot, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo; Senator Sam Egwu, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Senator Ben Obi and Hon. Udeh-Okoye, among others.
