The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandits hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The operation, carried out on Saturday, August 29, involved officers from the Kaduna State Command and Vigilance Service, Makarfi, as part of efforts to deny bandits freedom of movement and improve security for residents and properties.
In a statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the police said the operation was based on credible intelligence provided by members of the community.
Hassan said intelligence led security agents to suspected bandit enclaves around the general areas of Durum and Danguzuri, extending to the border with Kano State.
He said two structures identified as hideouts allegedly used by bandits to hold kidnapped victims were dismantled at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.
The statement read in part: “On August 29, 2026, at about 08:00 hours, operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, Makarfi, engaged bandits and dismantled their hideout during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area.
“During the operation, two structures identified as hideouts used by bandits to hold kidnapped victims were dismantled in Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu, Danguzuri.”

The command said joint security patrols were still being carried out in the area, adding that normality had been restored and the general area remained calm.
Police Commissioner CP Rabiu Muhammad, psc, mni, praised the communities for their cooperation and the officers for their bravery.
He reaffirmed the command’s determination to maintain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.
The command also called on the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations..
