The vice governor of the state of Niger, Comrade Yakubu Garba, has not resigned from the position, unlike the rumors that circulate widely on social networks.
Vice governor's press secretary, Ummikhultume Abdullahi, told Minna journalists on Monday that speculation is false and without any base.
She confirmed that Garba remains completely in office and continues to carry out her duties of her official residence in the rooms of the commissioners near the Government's house in Minna.
“I am currently in his official residence; he is up while I'm down. I can tell you categorically that comrade Yakubu Garba is still the vice governor of Niger's state. There is nothing like resignation,” said Abdullahi.

Another intern of the governor's deputy office also informed the journalists on Monday that some people misunderstood the Hilux Toyota Vans sighting that packed leather boxes belonging to some of the adult children of the attached governor, who were preparing to leave for their schools after the resumption of academic activities.
The clarification became imperative after the growing political tension fueled by the rumors of resignation.
The very reliable source, which anonymity, however, begged journalists not to denounce their meeting, insisting that the Vice Governor has not submitted his resignation and has been occupied attending to his official duties.
The officials of the Deputy Governor's office have declared the members of the public to ignore the wrong information and warned against the dissemination of false reports capable of causing unnecessary disturbances.
