Hundreds of rotarios under the Rotary International 9111 district will converge in Abeokuta at the end of this month for its Pioneer District Conference.
Tagged with the 2025 irresistible district conference, the Rotary 9111 district governor, Dr. Wole Kukoyi, declared that the meeting would provide an opportunity for the rotarians to interact, share ideas and show several humanitarian and community services carried out by the 75 clubs within the district.
According to him, the forum, which will be held in the Olusegun Obasanjo (Oopl) presidential library in Kuto, Abeokuta, will feature inspiring sessions, insightful discussions and network opportunities with leaders from Nigeria and abroad.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, Kukoyi took the opportunity to provide updates on some humanitarian services and community projects undertaken by the district, emphasizing that they are still a priority despite the economic challenges of the nation.
Some of the projects, they said, include the construction and equipment of a falciform cell center, along with other community initiatives carried out by the 75 clubs within the district.
“Our Naira is quite weak in terms of exchange. Despite this, we still prioritize all our rotation activities. Therefore, we do not allow the exchange rate to dictate our level of commitment. Instead, we ensure that our communities do not suffer due to the economic situation.
“All the activities in which we have previously participated, even on a larger scale. This year, our third project is the construction and equipment of a falciform cell center, which is worth hundreds of millions of Naira. While we talk, the project is almost completed, and we will commission it before June 30, as promised.”
