The senator representing Jigawa North West Senatorial District, Senator Babangida Hussaini, has categorically denied reports suggesting that he is making preparations to contest the 2027 Jigawa State gubernatorial election.
In a statement made available to Tribune Online in Dutse, Jigawa State capital, the senator described the claims as baseless and deliberately misleading.
“Recently, certain people have appeared on radio programs making unfounded accusations that I am preparing to run for the governorship of Jigawa State,” Hussaini said.
“These claims are totally false and are clearly intended to create unnecessary tensions, divisions and mischief within our great party, the APC.”
He stressed that there are no differences between him and the state governor, noting that both leaders remain united in their commitment to the progress of Jigawa State.
“His Excellency Governor Malam Umar Namadi and I remain members of a united party, working in collaboration and respect towards the development of our state,” he added.
Reaffirming his loyalty, the senator declared his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi.
“I wish to reiterate, unambiguously, that I remain firmly loyal to the administration of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the government of our governor, Malam Umar Namadi,” he said.
Senator Hussaini called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to take decisive action to curb the spread of falsehoods capable of undermining the unity of the party.
“It is important to safeguard the unity, discipline and integrity of the APC, ensuring that falsehood and mischief do not distract us from our collective responsibility to build a stronger Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement concluded.
