The senator who represents the Senatorial District of Kogi West, Senator Sunday Karimi, described the appointment and nomination of Mr. Thompson Oludare on Sunday for the Senate confirmation as Managing Director (MD) of the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (Assets) as a decision well thought by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu that will help reposition the corporation.
In a statement issued to journalists in Lokoja, the senator assured that the new managing director brings decades of bank experience and expressed his confidence that his appointment will protect the funds from the depositors and guarantee that his deposits be reimbursed.
Senator Karimi highlighted the impressive academic qualifications of Oludare, including the first and second titles in economics and a doctorate in relevant fields to protect the funds from depositors. As a key player in the banking sector, he assured that Oludare's experience will help maintain the stability of the financial system supervising and regulating the financial institutions insured.
Senator Karimi thanked President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for identifying Oludare and assured that his appointment will add value to the current administration.

“Dr. Thompson is a round plug in a round hole. He worked throughout his career in the banking supervision section of the Central Bank and reached the position of director of that section.”
“He is a professional blood who believes in doing things rightly without cutting corners, a very truthful and reliable hand that will be very useful for the transformation agenda of this government,” said the senator. He added that Oludare's appointment as MD of Assend, after confirmation, will serve as a positive turning point for the sector in the country.
