Senator Suleiman Abdurrahman (Kawu Sumaila), which currently represents the Senatorial District of Southern Kano, has been praised for prioritizing education for disadvantaged people in its constituency.
The recommendation was made by the Kano South Youths Front in collaboration with the Association to promote democracy and good governance, in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.
According to the group, “Senator Kawu Sumaila has considered him necessary for him, as a well -fixed politician and a well -raised public servant, to properly use the electoral mandate that gave him the masses/electorates to touch the lives of the disadvantaged in the senatorial district of Kano South.”
The group emphasized that the narrative is changing through education in its attempt to empower Kano South's youth to a better and based on a purpose.
He declared: “It is only when you educate the people you will have among them those who may think for the whole society and those who will assume public confidence positions to administer the affairs of society.”
The group added: “Therefore, there is no way that qualified teachers, doctors, engineers, legal professionals, farmers, historians, architects and all that without giving each child the education to which he is entitled as a citizen.”
According to the group, “to demonstrate their unbridled commitment to educate young people, Senator Kawu Sumoila, within these two years, has built six classroom blocks in Baure's nomad Dagmawa in the Waguilia government. “
He also built two blocks of two classrooms each at Kafin Maiyaki Elementary School in the local government of Kiru, blocks of two classes in Hayin Gwarmai of the local Government of Bebeji, a new school of Tsangaya en ran Islamiyya in the Kula village of Kula de Gediya Ward in the local government of Sumila, and two blocks in the local government of Bownyya.
In addition, it facilitated the establishment of the High School of the Nigerian army in Sumoila, and the construction of a new Tsangaya school in the local government of Doguwa, to address the shortage of classrooms in public schools, one of the main causes of overcrowding.
The group emphasized: “We need to have an enable environment for effective teaching and learning to take place without obstacles, particularly in the Senatorial District of southern Kano, being the largest senatorial district in the country.”
According to the group, “in terms of providing scholarships with subsidies to their constituents, within this period of two years, Senator Kawu Sumoila has done much for his deep conviction that the best legacy that any politician of public spirit can leave behind is to provide education to the youngest, particularly the sons and daughters of the privileged society.”
He revealed that Senator Kawu Sumoila is currently sponsoring no less than 140 students, collected from the sixteen areas of the local government that make up the senatorial district of Kano South, which are studying several courses related to health in private health universities throughout the country, to the melody of ₦ 55,000,000 at the end of each academic year.
He also sponsored about 180 headlines in several fields related to science to promote his studies at advanced education levels, such as the University of Science and Technology of Aliko Dangote, Wudil (Adust), which costs him ₦ 7 million annually; 50 students studying Hadices (that is, the way of life and the teachings of the prophet of Islam, Saw Muhammad) in Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano; 470 students who pursue the first degrees in different fields of study at the Al-Estiqama University, Sumoila; 30 students of the local government of Tudun-Wada subject to degree programs at the Federal University, Dutsin-MA; and another 30 students from the local government of Gaya pursue more and BSC at the same university.
The senator also offers scholarships to a significant number of students who currently conduct undergraduate and postgraduate studies in different countries of the world.
In addition, it has provided 250 office furniture articles to renew the offices of the directors in the secondary schools selected in the Senatorial District of Southern Kano, and has sponsored a bill for the establishment of a Federal Federal (special) Faculty of Education in the local government of Karaye.
In addition to its previous interventions, Senator Suleiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila has provided and distributed 3,500 banks and three -seater tables to the public schools of the sixteen areas of the local government in southern Kano. He has also paid the sum of ₦ 2,500,000 monthly as a maintenance allocation to selected students impartially from the sixteen local governments, all of their personal bag.
