The senator that represents the central senatorial district of Plateau of the State of Plateau, Senator Diket Plang, described the death of former vice -governor of the State, Professor Sonni Gwanle Tyoden, as “sudden and painful.”

In a message of condolence, Plang was sympathized with the State of Plateau, the Mangu Local Governing Council, the Miskham Mwaghavul and the traditional Mangu council and the Royal Family of Tyoden of Pushit about the sudden disappearance of the scholarly professor of political sciences.

He pointed out that the deceased was a renowned professor of Political Science and Vice Chancellor at the University of Jos before his incursion into politics and then became a deputy of the State of Plateau for eight years solid, former governor Simon Lalong.

According to the senator, the deceased was an academic scholar of world class whose efforts of teachings and research made significant contributions to the growth of political science, and added that the late professor was also a model of humility and transparency.

Senator Plang also stressed that Tyoden was a perfect gentleman who, until the end he exhibited great maturity in politics, was ready to contribute to any capacity for the development of the State.

“We have missed a brilliant politician, experienced administrator and exceptional academy that distinguished himself at the service of his people, first, as a vice -rector and then as vice governor of the State of Plateau.

“On behalf of my family, the people of the central senatorial district of Plateau of the State of Plateau, I cry the approval of a gentleman, an uncle, a mentor and a political leader who died in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness.

“May his soul rest in peace; I pray to God to accept the soul of the deceased and give strength to the family and friends he left to endure this irreparable loss,” he prayed.
