Shell Nigeria is celebrating the president of the country Osagie Okunbor, who retires this month after 39 years of service.
Interested parties in the oil and gas industry, including government officials, regulators and executive directors of indigenous and international oil companies join to honor Osagie Okunbor in the ceremonies of milestones in Abuja.

The dignitaries highlighted Okunbor's contributions to the development of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria, especially the Nigerian content, and perform key roles in Shell investments in deep and gas integrated in Nigeria.
The executive vice president of Nigeria, Marno de Jong, will assume the additional responsibilities of the president of the country Nigeria.
Marno said: “Osagie is a respected leader in Shell and the industry in general whose wise advice and information has proven invaluable. During a career that has lasted almost 40 years, Okunbor has related to a wide range of interested parties, from communities to industry leaders, with empathy and excellent relational skills. We will all miss their presence and wish you a more pleasant retirement.”
Okunbor said: “It has been an honor of a lifetime that serves my country on a global platform offered by Shell. Shell values ​​of honesty, integrity and respect for people have been useful in my modest contributions.”
Graduated from the University of Benin in Business Administration, Okunbor joined Shell in 1986 and has served in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Brunei and the Netherlands.
He became the managing director of the Durable Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) and the field president, Shell Companies in Nigeria in 2015.
Its previous roles include vice president, infrastructure and logistics in Nigeria, vice president of Human Resources, Sub -Saharan Africa and main international business operated business advisor.
Okunbor has also been a key player in the Nigerian energy industry, which serves as president of two periods of the Petroleum Producers Commerce (OPTS) section of the Lagos Industry Chamber.
He received the Air Achievement award from He Dr Alirio Parra in the Nigeria oil and gas industry in 2022, among several other honors.
