All the progressives of Congress (APC) in Sokoto have suffered another setback, since the scores of its members in the local government area of Gada left the party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The deserters, received on Sunday by Senator Abubakar Gada, a key figure in the Movement of the ADC coalition, said they were leaving the APC for what he described as the low government performance and the inability to address the pressing challenges facing the Nigerians.

Going to the crowd, Senator Gada said that the movement towards ADC was a clear indication of citizens’ frustration with the worsening of insecurity, economic difficulties and the collapse of livelihoods, particularly in the Eastern Senatorial District of Sokoto.
“Our communities are under siege of insecurity. Agriculture, which is the backbone of our people, has been paralyzed, leaving poverty, hunger and unemployment in its path,” Gada lamented.
He stressed that the ADC was rapidly gaining ground as more Nigerians are looking for a credible alternative to the Government led by APC.
“People are adopting the ADC because they see hope in our coalition movement. APC government failures are driving the Nigerians towards a platform that is ready to rescue the nation,” he said.
The dropout adds to a series of political realignments in Sokoto, increasing bets before the next electoral cycle as opposition parties continue to strengthen their ranks.
