The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, has said that in view of the current difficulties that are experienced in the country, there is hope in Nigeria since the country has human and natural resources to change things.
This was even when the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, said optimism that things were improving, unlike two years ago, when the current government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed the position.
The two leaders spoke on Saturday during the launch ceremony of Darul ILM (Center for Islamic Studies), built and donated by the General Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatatosin Adeola Ajayi, to the Danbushiya community in the city of New Millennium, the area of ​​the local government of the state of Kadouna.
According to Sultan, “we must unite to solve our problems. We have so many resources in Nigeria, including human and mineral resources. Let's not lose sight of those who are envious of Nigeria because Nigeria is the only country that belongs to us and we know.
“We are all here for a single purpose: we are here because education is the most important thing that can be given to any child in their life. It doesn't matter where that program occurs, we will strive to be there to show people who believe in the education of our children, boys and girls at all levels, Islamic and Western education.
“Today, we met here to witness this historical program in Kaduna. We are obliged to understand that the school was built for orphaned by a non -Muslim with its personal background, not government funds. I think this is a very large statement. If we can do this at all levels, I think there is great hope for this country.
“Of course, we never lose the hope that this country will be great. This program seems small, but it is great. This community has never seen this number of dignitaries before.
“This school is a special school for orphans and homeless children. We are parents of such children, and only God would reward us if we help you receive education. I think those who are blessed by God should strive to buy land to build more of this type of school in the communities. We must not lose hope in Nigeria.” Sultan said.
In his own comments, while praising the Head of DSS about the construction of the center in the community, the Minister of Finance took the time to explain the current state of the economy. He said that the harsh economic reforms introduced by the current regime have begun to obtain positive results.
He said: “The economy is growing, the foreign reserve is increasing, inflation is stabilizing, food prices, oil and energy prices have begun to fall.
Edun said we are on the right path, noting that current policies are working. With a short time, the economy will stabilize, and the private sector, agriculture, transport, industry and digital economy will create jobs.
The school, built and donated by the CEO of the DSS, through the support of its friends and associates, bears the name of President Bola Tinubu.
Ajayi, represented by Alhaji Ahmed Zarma, a retired director of DSS, said that the initiative was part of his efforts to generate trust between the government and the general public and to promote internal security through constructive citizen commitment, the interreligious dialogue and the discourse of politics.
“I have initiated measures aimed at generating confidence between the government and the general public to reinforce internal security through the commitment of constructive citizens, interreligious dialogue and political discourse,” he said.
Ajayi explained that the law empowers DSS to avoid five important threats to Nigeria's internal security, including espionage, insurgency, sabotage, subversion and terrorism.
Speaking at the event, the main host, Governor Uba Sani said that the school represented hope, opportunity and commitment to education and humanity.
Sani, represented by her attachment, Dr. Hadiza Balabe, praised the vision and disinterest of the DSS general director, reaffirming the efforts of her government to address poverty, insecurity and inequality.
Sani said his administration prioritized education; Therefore, assign a significant part of the budget to reduce outside school syndrome, build classrooms and recruit qualified teachers.
He encouraged graduates to defend the values ​​of integrity, discipline and compassion and be agents of positive change in their communities.
The highlight of the event was the name change of the center as the center of Islamic studies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
