SSANU and NASU Members Clash with Security Personnel During Protest at Unity Fountain

Must Read

Right now, members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) are meeting at Unity Fountain in Abuja. They are unhappy because they haven’t been paid their salaries for four months.

The leaders of this protest are SSANU President, Mohammed Aruna Ibrahim, and NASU General Secretary, Comrade Peters Adeyemi.

The workers are upset because, even though the President ordered that they should be paid their four-month overdue salaries, only the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have received their pay. SSANU and NASU members have not been paid yet.

There was a bit of drama at the protest when strict security officers wouldn’t let the protesters leave Unity Fountain.
