The Governor of the State of Taraba, Dr. Agbu Kafas, inaugurated on Monday the committee after the task to implement an investment campaign for Taraba.
The governor, while talking in the Government’s house of Ty Danjuma, Jalingo, described the measure as a strategic vehicle to mobilize capital, eliminate private risk investment and translate comparative advantages from Taraba in employment creation projects and employment creation.
Kefas declared Taraba “Open for Business” and accused the Committee, chaired by RT. Excmo Ndudi Elumelu (OON), to immediately launch a 100 -day action plan with fast -track projects, rapid victories and a consolidated investment prospect for priority sectors.
“Taravest will serve as the State Investment Center to boost agriculture, energy, logistics, education, tourism and solid minerals in employment creation projects,” said the governor.
“Our mandate is simple: converting the potential into prosperity. There is no room for white elephant projects. Each mobilized Kobo must translate on roads, factories, farms, schools, hospitals and jobs. We will work hand in hand with regulators and independent monitoring mechanisms to maintain this clean, competitive and credible process,” he established.
The governor assured the development partners, investors and financial institutions of a transparent environment and based on rules, adding that the initiative is aligned with his 2027-2031 vision of “a better life for the citizens of Taraba.”
“The work begins now. I urge you to serve with integrity, urgency and courage,” emphasized the governor.
In his acceptance speech, Honnudi Elumelu, who also presided over the main and local organizing committees of Taravest 2025, said that the summit had successfully placed Taraba on the global map as “the new African investment border.”
According to him, the May Summit attracted more than 680 delegates of investors and 255 delegations, including heads of state, diplomats, industry leaders and traditional rulers.
Elumelu said the event was organized at a conservative cost for the State, with substantial financial support of private citizens and friends of the governor.
“With Taravest 2025, Taraba boldly showed its great opportunities in agriculture, mining, energy and industrialization to the world. Experts estimate that the summit has opened the State to more than $ 500 billion in potential investments, provided that the profits are completely exploited.”
When presenting the report of the Summit to the Governor, Elumelu promised that the subsequent committee would seek its task with diligence and commitment. “On behalf of the committee, I accept this mandate and assure your excellence and the people of Taraba that we will not disappoint the State,” he said.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the Punch correspondent in Taraba, Mr. Justin Tyopuusu, who also serves as a special advisor to the governor of the digital economy, is among the most important committee of 13 members.
