The Bauchi State Government has welcomed the participation of 100 qualified parata (SBA) to work in maternity units in all state primary medical care centers.
The commitment, facilitated by immunization more and the progress of malaria by accelerating the coverage and transformation services project (impact), aims to reduce maternal and child mortality rates.
This was revealed by the State Commissioner of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam.
The commissioner spoke in the orientation of the newly hired SBA held in Bauchi on Sunday that emphasized that “his commitment is to close the gap in human resources for health at the level of primary medical care, which are the closest facilities for members of the community.”
The commissioner also said that the state government has suffered efforts to provide policy and financing management for the health sector, especially with regard to women and children.
He warned that the State will not tolerate the misconduct of any of them, and added that it will appreciate the commitment and dedication to duty through the appropriate rewards system.
Speaking above, the project manager, Impact Project, Dr. Mohammed Adamu, said the orientation was to define their roles, responsibilities and the critical impact that his work will have to improve the results of maternal and newborn health in the facilities that the project is supporting.
According to him, “we, in the project, realized that the State has inadequate partials qualified, especially at the PHCS level, so the impact project participated in 100 SBA.
“SBA comprise community midwives (CW) and workers in the Community Health Extension (Chew) to promote safe delivery and reduce maternal and child mortality rates.”
Mohammed Adamu also said that the SBA were chosen from the group of volunteers who worked in primary medical care centers throughout the state.
However, he pointed out that newly hired SBAs have been deployed in maternity units where normal and complicated delivery is expected to handle prenatal care, postnatal and family planning services.
According to him, “for his work to be comfortable, the impact has renewed the existing adaptations and has built new ones where they are missing, renewed 124 pHc and provided them with solar energy and holes.”
Mohammed Adamu also said that the project will track performance using an online application that will be installed on its mobile phones detailing its locations.
He stressed that “also, the impact will provide the latest 4D ultrasound machines to secondary health centers throughout the state.”
The project manager added: “I want to inform him that anyone who does not accept their place of publication must renounce honorably, their stipends will be sent directly to their various health facilities and before resuming, their salary has been paid to the installation so that there is no room for complaints.”
Also speaking, the executive president of the Primary Health Board of the State of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, told the SBA that his contract is to save the lives of pregnant women and children in unattended communities.
Represented by the provost, Aliko Dangote College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi, Rekiya Saleh, the EC said: “His work also implies mobilizing pregnant women to come to the service center, and must have a change of attitude to be able to do it.”
Five SBA have been deployed in each of the 20 areas of the local government of the state of Bauchi for an initial period of six months pending whether the project will be extended.
Some of the SBA expressed happiness for development by saying that their voluntary service to humanity has finally been worth after a long time ensuring that they will put at their best more than what they had done before.
