The family of former Police Inspector, Dr. Solomon Arase, confirmed his death.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday by their son, Solomon Arase Junior,
According to the statement, Aase died on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after a brief disease at Cedarcrest hospital in Abuja.
The statement, entitled: “Notification of the death of Dr. Solomon Arase, former Police General Inspector, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” says: “The Aase family of Benin-City, Edo State, announces the approval of the Ehigiator de Salomon Aase, phd., Cfr, NPM, FDC, former inspector General of the Police.
“He died around 9 am on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Cedercrest Hospital, Abuja, in a brief illness. He was 69 years old.
“After a meritorious service as a police officer General, Dr. Araase served as president of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
“He was also a member of the Benchers body.
“The family seeks understanding and prayers of friends, associates and supporters at this difficult time, since they make the necessary arrangements for their gifts, which will be announced in due time.”
