The Minister of Women’s Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Gibrahim, has once again demonstrated his “exceptional leadership and maternal disposition” on Friday by calming tensions and forgiving workers who had previously organized protests in the ministry.
Speaking at a meeting of the City Council with the staff of Abuja, the Minister of Women’s Affairs hotly hugged the apologies of the workers, emphasizing that it had no grudge and that the unit was essential for the progress of the ministry.
Her humility and open heart forgiveness caused a thunderous applause of the excited workforce, many of which referred to it as a maternal figure.

The President of the Union, Mrs. Anne Orjiobele, and Comrade Success Alake, along with other personnel representatives, admitted that the previous protest was wrong and promised a renewed support for the minister.
They asked him to continue working regularly for the welfare of the staff, emphasizing that the misunderstanding was not premeditated.
In a symbolic gesture of good will and breath, the minister announced the distribution of a 50 kg rice bag to each worker present in the hall, an ad that was received with cheers and emotion.
Hajiya Sulaiman-Arbrahim urged the staff to look beyond internal differences and focus on the largest mission of the Ministry as the “conscience of the country”, with the responsibility of defending the rights and well-being of women, children, families and vulnerable groups.
She pointed out: “We should all be human beings first before anything else. Unity is the only way to follow. I have nothing against anyone, and I think we can solve our challenges through dialogue and mutual respect.”
The minister also assured that the welfare of the personnel remained a priority under his leadership, while clarifying that certain administrative duties are within the scope of the Secretary and Permanent Directors.
At the meeting, staff members raised concerns about welfare, housing, training and inclusion, which the minister promised to analyze within the limits of available resources.
She encouraged everyone to see themselves as collaborators instead of adversaries.
The historical meeting ended with a cheerful note, with workers singing, dancing and openly celebrating what many described as “a new beginning” for peace and collaboration in the Ministry of Women’s Affairs..
