The governor of the state of Kaduna, Uba Sani, appointed Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo as Education Commissioner, while the outgoing education commissioner, Professor Sani Bello, has been redistributed to the newly created Ministry of Information.
The governor also appointed lawyer Gloria Ibrahim as commissioned for youth development.
Appointments and redistribution have immediate effect.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, it was announced that the new Education Commissioner, Prof. Sambo, is an academic, administrator and receiver of the National Order of Merit of Productivity (1997) and Officer of the Order of the Niger (2000).
Professor of Energy Studies, previously served as Vice Chancellor at the State University of Kaduna (2004), Vice Chancellor at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi (1995–2004) and Vice Chancellor (academic) of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (1990–1994). From 2005 to 2012, Prof. Sambo was the general director of the Nigeria Energy Commission. In 2011, he was appointed special advisor to the President of Energy.

A scholarly scholar, Prof. Sambo has served in several panels and high -level committees both in Nigeria and internationally.
He was president of the Nigerian Committee of Association with Brazil On Energy (2007–2008), a member of the Research and Development Committee of Research and Development and Permanent Development of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund of the Energy Theme Group (2020), Member of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) of the Regional Center of the Renewal Center (2021) and a member of the African Union of the African Union African High Level.
Meanwhile, the new commissioner for youth development, BarrÃster Gloria Ibrahim, is a long -standing legal and mediator. Before his appointment, he served as the main legal practitioner in Glownom Legal Consult, Kaduna.
BarrÃster Gloria Ibrahim has a degree (LL.B.) of the Ahmadu Bello University, Tsaria, and a Certificate of Negotiation and Mediation by Dicon Consulting, Empowerment and Management, Kaduna. It is a member of the Association of Professional Negotiators and Mediators (APNM), the Child Protection Network (CPN), the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA).
Governor Uba Sani expects Professor Abubakar Sambo to revitalize the Ministry of Education and deliver the agenda of his administration, which aims to improve access to education, build and rehabilitate infrastructure, improve the ability of teachers, take advantage of the potential of ICT, prioritize girls education and strengthen school safety.
In line with the approach of his administration to rename and train the youth of the state of Kaduna to perform vital roles in a world and projects and projects that change rapidly, Governor Uba Sani hopes that Barrister Gloria Ibrahim develops creative, innovable and implementable challenges that will transform the Ministry of Youth Development into a center for high impact solutions to the challenges of young people.
While congratulating Professor Abubakar Sambo and lawyer Gloria Ibrahim for her deserved appointments, Governor Uba Sani wished them the guidance and protection of God in her new roles.
