An unconditional political and candidate of the governor of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of the state of Kogi, Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, has extended the warm congratulations to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over her recent victory in the Court, describing the trial as a significant milestone for the democracy of Nigeria, the justice system and the rule of law and the rule of law.
In a public statement, he praised the ruling of the Federal Superior Court that reaffirmed the constitutional right of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to represent the people of the central senatorial district of Kogi.
He also praised Judge Binta Nyako for giving a fair and balanced decision that, in his words, “carefully considered all sides of the case.”
Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka did not ask for words when criticizing the previous suspension of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, calling him “illegal” and a “dangerous precedent” that undermines Nigeria's constitutional democracy.

His words: “The suspension of a duly elected member of the National Assembly for months, without any legal basis, must be firmly rejected by all Nigerians who believe in justice and the rule of law.”
He also expressed a deep concern for what he described as a worrying pattern of authoritarian behavior by the president of Senate Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of arming his position to intimidate and silence the legislators who defend transparency and responsibility.
“The implacable efforts of Senator Akpabio to control his fellow senators, chosen as it was, must be collectively resisted. In any democracy in operation, such behavior would demand an immediate resignation. Instead, he continues to draw descents to the estimated chambers of the Senate,” Ajaka said.
He asked the Nigerians to speak against the erosion of democratic institutions and join when demanding the resignation of the president of the Senate, Akpabio, citing “shame and damage” caused to the legislative body.
“Today's trial is a timely reminder that no one is above the law,” he said.
“Once again, I congratulate his courage, distinguished senator. His victory revives hope in the triumph of justice. Congratulations,” he added.
