“These new rules will facilitate that developing countries are more close to the United Kingdom. This is good for their economies and for consumers and companies in the United Kingdom.”

In his comments, the Minister of Commercial Policy of the United Kingdom, Douglas Alexander said: “No country has been taken out of poverty without trade with its neighbors. During the last decades, trade has been an essential ingredient to lift hundreds of millions of poverty people worldwide.”

In addition to DCTS updates, the United Kingdom will provide specific support to help African exporters comply with the United Kingdom standards and navigate customs processes more efficiently. The objective of strengthening the trade of services, including digital, legal and financial services, through future trade agreements.

The United Kingdom trade for the development of the offer is aligned with its broader commercial strategy, which seeks to unlock growth through global associations and emerging markets.

Dunctated in 2023 after the United Kingdom's exit from the EU, the DCTS now covers 65 countries, offering reduced or zero tariffs in thousands of products. Only last year, goods worth more than £ 3.2 billion imported from Africa benefited from the United Kingdom's commercial preferences.

The new reforms reflect the United Kingdom's commitment to support sustainable economic growth in countries associated with the time that guarantees that British consumers and companies continue to access high quality affordable goods from around the world.
