President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State following the party’s primary elections held on Saturday.
Tinubu, in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, also commended the Osun State APC for the unity and spirit of reconciliation that preceded and also permeated the primary elections conducted through the affirmation.
“The President applauds all the aspirants who graciously resigned in favor of Oyebamiji, demonstrating loyalty to the party and a collective commitment to the ideals of the APC.”
The President, however, urged Asiwaju Oyebamiji to be magnanimous in victory by embracing all party leaders and former aspirants, ensuring inclusivity and cohesion as the party moves forward in the political process.
“The journey to win back Osun State for the progressive group in the 2026 gubernatorial election has begun,” the President stated. “I urge all APC members and leaders in the state to remain focused, united and determined. Victory is possible and together we will achieve it.”
Edo State Governor Okpebholo on Monday presided over the primary elections in Osogbo, the state capital, where party delegates unanimously affirmed Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
