The head of the Congress of all the progressives (APC) and the candidate of the Federal House of Representatives of 2023 in the state of Oyo, Hon. Tolulope Gbolasire-Aere, described the intervention of President Bola Tinubu in the political crisis of the state of the rivers as commendable.

The politician justified the intervention as a timely response, noting that the previous administrations, including those of former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, had also implemented a similar timely emergency rule during their respective terms.
Excmo Gbolasire-Aere accredited Tinubu for intervening in a political crisis that could have intensified in a state crisis, stating that the response has preserved real democracy in the state of Rivers.
