The United States has announced that it will not invite South Africa to the 2026 G20 Summit in Miami, following a strongly worded statement by President Donald Trump in which he accused Pretoria of failing to address alleged human rights abuses against white farmers.

Trump wrote: “To put it more plainly, they are killing white people and randomly allowing their farms to be taken away.”
He also criticized the American media, saying that the “fake news” establishment has refused to report on the matter. “Perhaps worst of all, the soon-to-be-closed New York Times and fake news media will not utter a word against this genocide. That’s why all the liars and pretenders in the radical left media are going out of business!” public.
The US president further alleged that South Africa snubbed the US delegation during the handover ceremony at the end of the G20 meeting. According to him, “at the conclusion of the G20, South Africa refused to hand over the G20 presidency to a senior representative of our US embassy, who attended the closing ceremony.”
Trump said that based on the alleged snub and the country’s human rights record, he had ordered that South Africa not be invited to the 2026 G20 Summit, which the United States will host.
“Therefore, under my instructions, South Africa will NOT receive an invitation to the 2026 G20, which will be held in the Great City of Miami, Florida, next year.”
Taking an even stronger stance, the president added: “South Africa has shown the world that it is not a country worthy of membership of any party, and we are suspending all payments and subsidies to them, effective immediately.”
South Africa has yet to formally respond to the US president’s claims.
