2027: I have made my mathematics, Tinubu will come third-the-uffai

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna, has intensified his criticisms of the current administration, predicting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will end third in the presidential elections of 2027.

The-Rufai, now leader of the coalition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declared in the Sunday policy of Channels Television that I had “made my mathematics” and concluded that Tinubu has no “way to win” the direct elections in the first vote.

“Tinubu will be third in the 2027 elections. I have made my mathematics and I can say that Tinubu does not have a path to win. The worst case is that there will be no winner in the first vote,” he said.

He urged the Nigerians to evaluate the government based on their personal well -being.

“Ask yourself, is your life better now under President Tinubu?” said.

In addition, he added that “there are no claims of good intentions” and that the government should be open to evaluation after a few weeks in office.

When addressing his own political ambitions, the former governor dismissed any desire to be a minister, stating that he was a minister at the age of 23 and does not need the position.

However, he acknowledged that he had been considered for the role of Minister of Energy, for which he had a clear road map to transform the sector.

El-Rufai, who was a key member of the Congress of all progressives (APC) and a strong activist from President Tinubu in the 2023 elections, has now united forces with figures such as former vice president Atiku Abubakar and the former candidate of the Labor Party Peter Obi.

He also commented on the issue of loyalty and the victory of the party, saying that it is the people, not the governors, who decide who wins.

“I was in APC, but I did not give my state. Bola Tinubu did not win her state,” he said.

In addition, he criticized the management of government insecurity, claiming that although officials often announce that terrorists have been killed, the “elements are often found in the streets.”

On the commitment of some of their new allies, such as Chibuike Amaechi and Peter Obi, to govern only for a period of four years, El-Rufai expressed skepticism.

“I want them to stop doing this type of commitment. No one believes them. Things change once they enter,” he said, adding that such promise is “even unfair”.
