Popular Nigerian singer Darlington Achakpo also known as Speed Darlington has been granted bail after being arraigned in court.
This development comes after Speed Darlington asked the Deputy Inspector General of Police to comply with a court order relating to his arrest.
According to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the bail application was successful and they are now working to refine the details.
“Police finally prosecute Speed Darlington in court.
“Bail application submitted and granted. We are trying to perfect it,” Adeyanju wrote in X.

Speed Darlington was initially arrested in October 2024 for alleged defamation and cyberbullying against fellow singer Burna Boy.
His lawyer had emphasized that a court order issued in December 2024 ordered police to file charges against Speed Darlington within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
