Afrobeats singer Raheem Okoya, known as Siraheem and son of a billionaire industrialist. Rasaq Okoyahas announced that he is stepping away from music, saying he can no longer balance the demands of the craft with his other commitments.
He revealed this in a statement posted on his official Instagram page on Wednesday.
Siraheem said the past year has made it increasingly difficult to give music the attention he believes it deserves, forcing him to reconsider his place in the industry.
“Over the past year, maintaining that alongside my other commitments has become more difficult. I have always believed in doing my best and I no longer feel like I can give this craft the effort, patience and dedication it truly deserves,” he said.
He added that taking a step back was the fairest way to close this stage of his career, both for him and for those who followed him.
“So I owe my true fans and my colleagues in this industry a professional outlet, I have decided to stop releasing new music,” he said.
The singer, who began releasing music professionally around 2022, gained further recognition with tracks including Bad Bitch Syndrome, Kowope, SOWETO, and TRU$T FUND. Their debut project, an eight-track effort titled By The Order Of The City, was released on May 1, 2026.
Tracing his journey into music, Siraheem recalled that it started as something casual before turning into a full-fledged career.
“My career started simply, music was a hobby I did with my children as a means of bonding and connection before anything else,” he said.
He said the industry had given him experiences he would always treasure, including performing in major shows and being recognized by artists he admired growing up.
Although he is stepping away from releasing new music, Siraheem made it clear that his creative ambitions are still very much alive, hinting at plans to expand into other fields.

“For my fans, the era of ‘Siraheem music’ may be coming to an end, but the creativity in me is still hungry for new challenges and still reaching for them. The future remains positive. I plan to diversify my creative palette into other fields and will return with new ventures,” he said.
He didn’t rule out returning to music, noting that he spent the past year working on what he considers his best material yet and could still release it.
“Music is still therapeutic for me. In time, maybe the album will find its way into the world somehow,” he said.
He left his message in an open note, without reaching a permanent goodbye.
“Who knows what the future will bring. Never say never,” he said.
Siraheem also expressed his gratitude to his fans and his collaborators, Mr Fantasy and Mr Miyagi, for their support during what he called an unforgettable year.
