Lagos, the bustling cultural and commercial beat of Nigeria, once again will be presented to the celebration of the most prestigious music of Africa, the All Africa Music Awards (Africa), as the Babajide Governor Sanwo-olu officially declared the disposition of the State to welcome the rest of the continent and the world for the 2025 edition of the awards ceremony.
Governor Sanwo-Oolu, who made the statement when he received a high-power delegation from the African Union and the African International Committee in his office on Tuesday, said that Lagos is more than prepared to display the red carpet for the rest of Africa in a demonstration of the state of the state as a creative and cultural capital of the continent.
Sanwo-olu declared that the acceptance of Lagos to receive Afima 2025 aligns perfectly with the vision of its administration to make the main creative and tourist pillars of the State's development campaign.
He pointed out that his government has made important investments in the creative industry, recognizing it as a key component of its agenda. He expressed his admiration for the flourishing creative ecosystem that feeds talent, attracts global attention and drives economic growth, the exits he attributed to deliberate efforts by his administration.

“I am impressed by the diversity and caliber of the members of the International Aphrima Committee. See representatives of countries such as Cote d'IVorire, Mozambique, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco and South-Aphrica is a strong statement that Africa is a global Pan-Africa initiative, it is a true continental platform,” said the Sanwo-olu, according to its welcome.
“One of the key pillars of the development agenda of our administration is the creative industry. Since I assumed the position, we have been intentional about the construction of a vibrant creative ecosystem that supports cinema, music, fashion, photography and cultural tourism. This year, Lagos will be at the Cannes Film Festival, and in October 2025, we will organize the EVENTHIP of Eps World Championshy. First event of Sports International Water Authon in Lagos.
