The president of the Dangote group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, blamed the scarcity of domestic crude oil for the main reason for the Dyngote refinery, it was increasingly based on imports from the United States to meet their needs in recent months.

Dangote declared this during the installation route by the Technical Committee of the Single Window (OSS) for the sale of raw and refined products in the Naira initiative.

He applauded the Technical Committee for his role in supporting the implementation of the praise of Naira's initiative for the raw of President Tinubu.

He also praised the positive impact of the Naira exchange agreement for raw in the Nigerian economy, noting that it has led to a reduction in oil products prices, relieved the pressure of the dollar and ensured the stability of the local currency, among others.

However, he pointed out in a statement: “Due to the shortage of domestic crude oil, the refinery has been increasingly based on imports from the United States to meet their needs in recent months.”

He emphasized the importance of bold investment in strategic sectors as a key to industrialization, revealing that the construction of the refinery required an extensive development of infrastructure, including a world -class marine and self -sufficient class installation capable of accommodating larger ships worldwide. He assured the delegation the refinery commitment to national development.

Designed to process a wide range of raw types, including African and the Middle East degrees, as well as US light oil. UU., The refinery has the ability to meet 100 percent of the internal demand of Nigeria of gasoline, diesel, kerosene and fuel for aviation airplanes, with an surplus available for export.

The refinery and petroleum petroleum petrochymics of $ 20 billion was described as “a symbol of the industrial revolution, promoting the economic emancipation of Nigeria” by the Technical Committee of the Single Window (OSS) for the sale of raw and refined products in the Naira initiative during the Tour of the Facility on Tuesday.

The coordinator of the OSS Technical Committee, Mrs. Maureen Ogbonna, who directed the delegation, described the refinery as a breath of fresh air, affecting practically all sectors of the economy.

“This refinery touches all our lives. There is hardly no sector not affected. From pharmaceutical products to construction, food and plastic, this project is transformative. God has used the president of the Dangote group to free Nigeria. I see this as the beginning of an industrial revolution,” he said.

Pointing out that, in line with the vision of President Bola Tinubu to achieve complete domestic sufficiency in oil products and Nigeria positioning as an important world exporter, the Committee is committed to eliminating regulatory, operational and logistics barriers that hinder supply and sale without crude oil problems and refined products in Naira.

Reflecting on the scale and sophistication of the installation, Ogbonna, which he had visited during the construction and more recently together with the leadership of the Nigerian port authority, expressed a continuous astonishment for its execution.

“It is really amazing that a man can imagine and execute such a project. While we toured the refinery, we thought we had seen everything until we reached the laboratory. That laboratory is only an institution. I do not know any institution in Nigeria or even worldwide that it has such a laboratory for petrochemical,” he said.

Applauding the feat of engineering, Ogbonna urged Dangote to stay focused and without flinching for the detractors, emphasizing that the project is a global achievement, not a personal company.

“We are really honored to have been warmly received by the president of the Dangote group and his team. My advice for him is: not being discouraged by critics. He was never egocentric. Despite the obstacles, he was driven by a vision for the future of Nigeria, reaching far beyond Africa,” he added.
