… BRC trains, Batv staff in ethical journalism, digital skills
The Bauchi state government has declared that not only focuses on reliving state -owned media organizations, Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) and Bauchi State Television (BATV), but also plan to recruit new employees to strengthen their operations.
The statement was made by the commissioner for information and communication, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman, during the opening of a three -day capacity construction workshop for Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) staff and the Bauchi State television authority (BATV), held at the DEC Conferences Center, Bauchi
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthen media organizations in Bauchi in line with modern transmission standards under the leadership of Governor Balance Abdulkadir Mohammed.
The training is aimed at editors, reporters, producers, presenters and other personnel of radio and television stations.
It was designed to improve professionalism, maintain ethical standards and increase digital competence in public transmission.
The commissioner emphasized that significant productivity cannot be achieved without the development of capacity, noting that the workshop began in collaboration with the management of both stations to improve skills, share knowledge and improve content delivery.
He said: “We expect improved performance in areas such as precise reports, solid editorial trial, creative programming and captivating narration.
“This training is a school in itself, which provides a platform for discussion, in -depth analysis and prognosis of future transmission trends.”
He described the training as a significant milestone in the State's media development trip and urged participants to remain attentive and totally committed throughout the sessions.
Usman reaffirmed the support of the current administration for a free, objective and professional media panorama, which according to him is essential for stability and social peace.
He praised the Governor Balance Mohammed for approving the first training of his kind, which is expected to increase the transmission of public service in the state.
Usman also appreciated the roles played by media unions such as the Union of Journalists of Nigeria (NUJ), the Union of Radio, Television and Theater Workers (Rattawu) and regulatory agencies, urging continuous cooperation for sustainable development in the sector.
For his part, the Head of the Civil Service, Mohammed Sani Umar, praised the Ministry to organize online training with global best practices.
He encouraged public officials, especially those in the media, to defend the professionalism, discipline and code of conduct of the civil service.
Also speaking, the managing director of BRC, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Shira, stressed that the training aims to improve efficiency, response capacity and innovation.
He added that participants will learn the essentials of content development, the participation of the audience and modern communication tools to remain competitive in the current digital media environment.
Delivering a vote of thanks, the president of the Board of Directors of BRC and Batv, Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Bello, appreciated the governor and the ministry for equipping media houses with modern tools and promoting professional growth among staff.
In his separate comments, the president of the state of Nuj, Comrade Umar Saidu, and the president of the state of Rattawu, the comrade Sirajo Abdullahi Wunty, described the training as timely and vital.
They promised to maintain solid associations with the government to advance the professionalism of the media in the state of Bauchi.
