The music icon and the evangelist, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, opened about his close relationship with the late pioneer of Fuji's music, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Balogun, popularly known as a lawyer, revealing how he discovered his talent and played a fundamental role in his increase in stars.
Speaking during a historical peace meeting held to reconcile the main actors in Fuji's music industry, Obey described Barríster as a “decent son”, noting that he saw greatness in him from the beginning.
“I discovered the uniqueness in him early. When I heard his sound, I told him that the army was not his way. It was humble, talented and grateful. I guided him and continued committed to preserving his legacy,” Obey said.
He recalled how Barrimer paid attention to his advice to leave the Nigerian army and follow a full -time musical career, a decision that changed the Yoruba music panorama forever.
Parley Peace, convened by Obey, ended a long -standing crack within Fuji's musical circle, a development widely applauded by fans and interested parties as a great boost for unity and gender growth.
The event also presented the presentation of a prize of excellence to the evangelist Ebenezer Obedy in recognition of its impact of decades on Nigerian music and their peace efforts.
In addition, the formal presentation of Barryfest, a commemorative event in honor of the late Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrimer, was backed by Obey as part of his efforts to defend the legacies of the Fuji icon.
