The former Minister of Sports and Youth Development and member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Solomon Dalung has clarified that none of the party's leaders are motivated by personal ambition to become president.
On the other hand, he said that they are motivated by the desire to rescue the country from what he perceived as the poor leadership of the administration of all the progressives of Congress (APC).
The former minister, who said that the Nigerians are fed up with the leadership style of the APC in the center, along with economic difficulties and insecurity, led the Nigerians to look for alternatives, which, he said, have found in the ADC.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Jos on Monday, Dalung said that no unconditional of ADC has declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2027, and added that although many of the unconditional are eminently qualified, they are responsible citizens who do not want to violate the electoral guidelines
He said: “Let me know, none of them has declared the presidential ambition. If they declare, they are supposed to hold a press conference to inform Nigeria who intends to run for the highest position in the country, but this has not happened.

Dalung explained that the ambition of ADC members to govern the country in 2027 is due to patriotism and the desire to give Nigeria the best leadership that would promote unity and address the economic policy of the current administration.
According to him, the ambition to transform and make the country big cannot be a bad ambition because a bad ambition is when it is for a selfish or personal interest.
Dalung frowned at the impression that some of the leaders of the ADC simply want to recycle themselves back to power, since they are eminent Nigerians who have shown a deep concern about the deterioration of the state of affairs and are determined to rescue the country to the sense.

“They are patriotic Nigerians; they have never been president; they could have been governors, and if you want to judge them, you go to your state and verify what they have done while they are in office. The former minister said that ADC will give Nigeria a presidential candidate who would meet his expectations and feelings and be a good party to fight and fight against the power of the APC.
