… as APC denies the alleged participation of the presidency
A team of 97 lawyers will defend the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a lawsuit instituted by certain chiefs of the party, challenging interim leadership under Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as national president and national secretary, respectively.
The leader of the legal team, lawyer Mohammed Sheriff, revealed this on Tuesday in Abuja. He accused the ruler Congress of all progressives and, by extension, the presidency as an intellectual author of the lawsuit, using individuals who, according to him, were not members.
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit instituted Monday in the Federal Superior Court of Abuja, are Adeyemi Emmanuel, Ayodeji Victor Tolu and Haruna Ismaila.
In the case marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1328, the ADC appears as the first accused, with the Independent National Electoral Commission and the former immediate national president of the party, Ralph Nwosu, appointed as the second and third defendant.
Mark (Interim National President), former Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola (interim national secretary) and former Sports Bolaji Abdullahi minister (Secretary of National Interine Advertising) appear as the fourth, fifth and sixth accused, respectively.
However, the ADC claimed that alleged plaintiffs in the lawsuit were not registered members of the party in the state of Kogi or Nasarawa.
In reaction to the participation of the Presidency of the Presidency in the claim, the Secretary of National Advertising of APC, lawyer Felix Morka, dismissed him as unfounded.
The advertising scribe of the ruling party declared that Tinubu had no reason to instigate a crisis in the ADC.
