Ibadan will come alive this July as main voices in the Gospel de Nigeria music scene, along with the respected Gospel ministers, they meet to honor the evangelist Bukola Akinade, popularly known as Senwele Jesu, while celebrating his 50th birthday in a large two -part event.
The celebration of the golden jubilee, scheduled for July 14 and 19, promises to be a spiritual and musical experience, drawing dignitaries and faithful throughout the country and beyond.
In a statement by the event coordinator, Mr. Seyi Sokoya, the celebration aims to highlight both the life and the Ministry of the evangelist Akinade, a woman whose music and message have impacted innumerable lives in the last 25 years.
“Senwele Jesu is not just an artist from the Gospel: it is a symbol of consistency, faith and divine calls. Reaching this milestone is a manifestation of God's grace, and it is appropriate that we honor it in a big way,” said Sokoya.
The celebration begins with “Praise of Jubilee 50” on Monday, July 14 in the Apostolic Church of Christ, the Eagle Winging Assembly, Wakajaye Road, Iyana Church, Ibadan. The praise concert will have actions that cry the soul of the heavyweights of the gospel as a praise, Bisi Alawiye, Laolu Gbenjo, Ife Odogiyon and Dare Justified. Pastor Joseph Akinade, the celebrant's husband, will be the host of the night.
The Grand Final takes place on Friday, July 19, starting with a thank you at 10:00 am in the same church. A reception will follow in Jogor Event Center, Liberty Road, Ibadan.
The Thanksgiving Service will have a speech to open one of the most respected female preachers in Nigeria, Bishop Funke Felix -adejumo, co-founder of the Christian ministries of Agape.
“This is more than a birthday: it is a celebration of purpose, impact and unwavering dedication to the Gospel,” Sokoya added. “The music of Senwele Jesu has inspired faith and has brought hope to many. This golden jubilee is a tribute to a life lived in the service of God and humanity.”
Ibadan is expected to attract thousands of attendees and will serve as a reminder of the enduring power of Gospel music and the ministry in the configuration of lives.
