The Federal Government through the National Council of Automotive Design and Development (NADDC) has completed a training of one -week technicians in the Ekiti state in the repair and maintenance of tricycles and motorcycles fed by gasoline and CNG in the state.
The five -day mechaterronic training that is in association with Simba Group had no less than 50 participants throughout the state trained and trained with the necessary tools for the task of repairing the tricycles in line with the technological demand in the market.
Speaking during the closing ceremony held at the NADDC Automotive Training Center during the weekend in Ado-Ekiti, NADDC General Director Joseph Osanipin said that the training was designed to equip self-technological with advanced skills in repair and maintenance of tricycles and motorcycles with gasoline and CNC.

The DG revealed that technological advances have been identified in the new tricycles and motorcycles in the market, hence the need for technicians to be up to date with the expected skills to handle maintenance.
Osanipin said the Council with the support of President Bola Tinubu is determined to close the skills gap in the automotive sector to achieve economic development, adding that a similar training would soon be held in other states with the establishment of twenty -one automotive training centers in the six geopolitical areas.
He praised the Government of the State of Ekiti and the Management of the Simba Group for the success of the State training initiative.
According to him, ”this initiative, promoted by NADDC, aims to continually close the skills gap and improve the technical knowledge of self-technological, thus creating job opportunities for young people in the Nigerian automotive industry, as well as to guarantee employment retention and creation of wealth for car technicians.
“The automotive industry is a critical component of the economy of any nation, and Nigeria is no exception. By investing in specialized training programs like this, we are feeling a solid basis for a vibrant and sustainable automotive industry that will boost economic growth, create jobs and improve our national competitiveness.
“NADDC undertakes to support the development of a prosperous automotive industry in Nigeria. We believe that this industry has the potential to significantly contribute to the growth and economic development of our nation, and we are working tirelessly to create a enabling environment that supports its growth.”
He advised the beneficiaries not to sell the tools, but will deploy them for the progress of the automotive sector in the State and for their economic development.
Speaking, the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who was represented by the commissioner for the creation and empowerment of wealth, Kayode Fasae, while praising the efforts of the Council, congratulated the beneficiaries for the opportunity to be part of the training.
He reiterated his administration's commitment towards skill development and wealth creation, urged students to renounce other technicians in the 16 areas of the local government.
Oyebanji said: “Motorcycles and tricycles you see in our cities and communities are not only modes of transport. They are lines of life. For countless families, these vehicles represent livelihoods, access and connection. Ensuring adequate maintenance and functionality is not a luxury, it is a necessity.”
The regional manager of Simba Group, Nigeria, Sumit Panda, said the technicians have been equipped with adequate skills to repair and maintain modern tricycles and motorcycles, both gasoline and with CNG.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the state president of the tricycles of the owners of the owners of the Nigeria rider Association (Toran) Talabi Akinola appreciated NADDC and their partners for successful training, assuring them that the acquired tools and skills would be implemented for a cash provision in the State in the State in the State.
