The Kogi state chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its coalition partners have postponed their long -awaited political convergence in Lokoja, the state capital, after the sudden disappearance of the former head of state and president, Muhammadu Buhari.
The coalition meeting, which was announced to present innovative plans and mobilization strategies before the 2027 general elections, had obtained key political figures from the three senatorial districts of the State: Kogi East, Central and West.
Present were representatives and unconditional of the main political parties, including SDP, PDP, ADC and even disenchanted factions within the APC, all converging with a shared vision of drawing a new political direction for Kogi and Nigeria in general.
The coalition had aligned a series of powerful statements, masses movement plans and base mobilization frames.
However, in a unanimous decision led by ADC executives and backed by coalition leaders, the agenda was filed out of deep respect for the death of former President Buhari, whose influence on Nigeria's democratic trip remains indelible.
The coalition, in a joint statement, expressed its condolences to the Buhari family, the government and all the Nigerians.

The event, although it was reduced, was still witnessing passionate discussions and camaraderie among opposition members, with many leaders who describe the current political wave as “a change tsunami ahead of the administration of President Tinubu.” The tone of the meeting was challenge and preparation to challenge the status quo in 2027.
Political observers see this coalition as a formidable force capable of remodeling the political land of the state of Kogi. With notable figures of rival matches that share the same table and message, a new alliance is clearly in creation, one that could have national implications.
A new date for the complete presentation of the coalition agenda after the national duel period is expected to be announced. For now, all eyes remain in Kogi, where the political unit seems to be rooting in a moment of national reflection and loss.
