The former presidential assistant, Reno Omokri, criticized the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, for visiting Daura only after the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement in his Facebook account verified on Wednesday, Omokri compared Obi's visit to Daura with “Medicine after death.”
He criticized OBI for making the trip only after receiving a violent reaction on social networks for not attending the funeral, arguing that OBI's absence in the burial had already sent a negative message to the north.
He wrote: “Go to Daura one day after Buhari's funeral because you were dragged into social networks by your absence at the funeral is medicine after death! The message to Arewa has already been approved and understood!”
Omokri had previously questioned OBI's priorities on Tuesday, contrasting his presence in Ilorin for a political event with his absence at Buhari's funeral.
“What was so important for Peter Obi that he chose not to appear in Daura for the funeral of General Muhammadu Buhari today? This was a man who was only yesterday in Ilorin, attending the second annual colloquium of associate professor Abdulmumin Yinka Ajia, where he delivered a speech asking the north to the north that Zoneta the ADC in the south.
