A Nigerian lawyer and boss of the Popular Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Niyi Aborisade, has formally declared his intention to run for the Governance seat of the State of Oyo in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Democratic Party (PDP) of the peoples.
Aborisade, who is also a human rights activist, made the announcement in Ibadan, the capital of the state of Oyo, on Wednesday during a meeting with party members and their supporters in the local government of Egbya.
Speaking at the meeting, he emphasized his preparation to serve the State with integrity and vision, with the aim of advancing to the State.
He said that he is running to make a positive change in the state and to maintain the legacy of the current governor, Seyi Makinde.
He also expressed his confidence in his chances of becoming the carrier of the party flag in the next elections.
The Aborisade Declaration adds to the growing list of political figures that are positioned before the next governor career in Oyo, since Nigerians demand increasingly effective governance.
“I am up to the task, I want to advance this state, I want to make sure that our state of origin becomes one of the best states in the country and I think I can do it because I have what I need to improve the state of Oyo, he said.
“As a human rights activist for more than 30 years, I have been crying out for good governance. Now is the time to bring a good governance to the people of the state of Oyo. I will change things positively for the good people of the state of Oyo.
“I am the best candidate for the seat because I have a better opportunity than other candidates in the state, I have the quality of emerging as the best governor of the state of Oyo.
“Governor Seyi Makinde is going well in his administration in the state, so far everything is good, he has done it tremendously well and we will love to keep his legacy and we will also do better for this state,” he concluded.
