Aare Onakakanfo de Yoruba Land, was gani adams, has asked Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the state of Kwara and Ahmed Ododo from the state of Kogi to create state security outfits, such as Amotekun in the southwest, to combat the growing attacks of the bandits in the two states.

The Yoruba Generalissimo made the call while talking in the 2025 edition of the Kakanfo Festival in IFO, state of Ogun, saying that such a movement would largely complement the federal security structure in the two states.

In addition, I was Adams, who quickly remembered the recent attacks of alleged bandits in the Babanla area of the state of Kwara, which led to the loss of lives, said that establishing such security settings would help stop the incursion of bandits in the southwest region through the two states, which seemed like safety gaps at this time.

This was just when he warned that not doing something to urgently address the situation in the two states would degenerate at a level in which he would negatively affect the economic nerves of the nation.

Adams was going, while the warning rang, he observed that the level of insecurity throughout the country had reached an alarming level, and many citizens could not carry out their daily activities without fear, and points out that insecurity had now become an issue that deserves the most urgent response of governments at all levels.

The Generalissimo Yoruba emphasized the need to “urgently do something about what is happening in the states of Kwara and Kogi and parts of Ondo, Oyo and Ogun, even when he highlighted some border cities in the state of Niger as points of view.

“The safety of Nigerians is essential for prosperity, stability and development of this nation. Without peace and security, our efforts towards economic growth, social cohesion and democratic governance will be continuously undermining.

“Today, insecurity is manifested in bandit, kidnapping, armed robbery, communal clashes and the like.

Adams was urged state governors to adopt collaboration with other interested parties on the issue of security, saying that all hands must be on deck to address the insecurity decisively and eliminate criminal elements of their hiding places.

“We do not need to make too much noise in social networks before facing criminals in our environment. Security is about strategy, structure and strength of their team that can meet with the geographical propagation of the area you want to ensure.

“Security is the level of sincerity and commitment of the team in which he is leading, and in which he can trust to establish their lives for the land of Yoruba. Security is not a job that can give a high illiterate.

However, I was Adams, who is also the national coordinator of the Popular Congress of Oodua (OPC), said he was ready to lead his network of interested security parties to help address insecurity in the southwest if the state governors were ready for such collaboration.

“We have written more than three letters to the authorities about the need for collaboration. If the governors are ready, we are equally ready. We cannot end up in the Yoruba land security framework, except that we have the authorization to do so, otherwise we could be labeled as common criminals.

“With the southwest interested security group group, we have the necessary network and intelligence to support the current security framework in the region to achieve the greatest result,” he said.
