An outstanding activist in Kogi, Usman Okai Austin, praised Governor Usman Ododo for deploying a security agent on the Aingba-Ingobe highway, a stretch plagued with armed attacks and kidnappings.
Okai described the intervention as a timely response to the concerns of residents and travelers.

“The governor made a promise and has maintained it. It is important that we recognize that, instead of playing politics with obvious, the important thing is that our people, the people of Kogi East, should be able to access their own state capital without kidnappers on the road, kidnapping them or those of Benue and Surly Surly are now accessing the road without kidnapping,” Okai said, Okai said.
The activist praised improved security along the Lokoja-Aakuta road and urged the governor to pay similar attention to other vulnerable routes in Kogi East.
“The safety deployment on the Ayingba-Ingobe road is commendable. This is a great relief for our people who have lived in fear. We hope this action will be maintained and extended to other vulnerable routes in Kogi East.”
Governor Ododo has made security a key priority of his administration, repeatedly ensuring citizens that his government would strengthen the police and work in close collaboration with communities to face criminal gangs.
