ADC to Tinubu: Your administration is monetizing difficulties

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong reprimand of the Bola Tinubu administration, accusing it of celebrating false economic successes by implementing policies that “monetize difficulties” and impoverish even more to Nigerians.

In a statement by the National Secretary of Advertising Mallam Balaji Abdullahi, the party directly challenged the statements of the Government’s Revenue Revenue Government, improved change rates and stop local loans.

The ADC argued that the promoted income mobilization of the Government of N20.59 billion is a “huge deficit” of N21.22 billion compared to the N41.81 billion N41.81 projected from the 2025 budget.

The party described government figures as “unrealistic” and a mere act of propaganda, noting that an analysis in favor of relations during the first eight months of the year reveals a significant deficit.

The statement also refuted President Tinubu’s claims about the exchange rate, marking his statement that the Naira was in N1,900 to a dollar when he assumed the position as “evidently false.”

“With a simple Google Search Will Show That on the Morning President Tinubu Was Sworn In, The Naira Traded At Approximately OF ITS VALUE, WIPING OUT SAVINGS AND LEAVING ORDINARY NIGERIANS TO BEAR THE BRUNT THRUCH SKYROKETING FOOD PRICES, SOARING RENTS, AND SHOTS OF TRANSPORTATION.

“Another false claim by President Tinubu is that the Government has arrested local loans. Only a few days ago, on August 26, 2025, the Debt Management Office announced that N136.16 billion raised through an auction of federal government bonds. This is apart from the $ 21 billion approved by the National Assembly in July without any detail of its purpose, which takes the national debt to $ 120 billion For the amount of the N18 the story of Nigeria.

The ADC said that on the day of its inauguration, the Naira quoted at approximately N460.72 to the dollar in the official market and between N700 and N800 in the parallel market. The party said that Naira has lost more than 50% of its value under the current administration, which leads to shooting prices.

In addition, the ADC challenged the president’s statement that the Government has arrested local loans, citing a recent bond auction by the debt management office that collected N136.16 billion.

The party questioned the need for continuous loans, especially after the hasty approval of the National Assembly of a loan of $ 21 billion in July, which has brought the national debt to a historical maximum.

The ADC found two recently “cruel and deeply insensitive” recent policies: the newcomer introduced 5% gasoline taxes and a 300% increase in the cost of the Nigerian international passport. The party declared that these policies are designed to punish citizens who already suffer the effects of the elimination of fuel subsidies and economic difficulties.

“As if this were not enough, the government has also increased the cost of obtaining a Nigerian international passport by 300%, which makes it one of the most expensive in the world. In the United Kingdom, a passport costs only 5% of the minimum monthly salary. In Nigeria, it now costs 143% of the minimum wage.

“This is what governance has been reduced to President Tinubu, taxing people’s very survival, monetizing difficulties and celebrating suffering as success. From fuel taxes to passport prices increases, each policy seems designed to push nigerians to poverty, while a few privileged in the upper part live in excess and comfort.”

The ADC concluded that government actions are equivalent to exploitation, not the government, and are pushing most Nigerians to “abject poverty”, while a few privileged live comfortably.
