The alleged militias kill the youth president in Plateau

A youth leader of the community has been shot dead in an ambush for alleged armed militias in the Bokkos local government of the State of Plateau.

According to Zagazola Makama, the attack took place in the early hours of Thursday, when a joint patrol team of soldiers, vigilantes and hunters was attentive along the Horop – Laban food road – Nawala, a border route that joins the plateau and Nasawa states.

The victim, identified as Mr. Dabit Clement Joseph, 47, popularly called Chepti, was the youth president of the district of Horop. He was killed in the act during the attack.

Since then, his body has been evacuated to the morgue at Luna Hospital in Bokkos.

Police authorities confirmed that investigations have begun, with security forces that intensify efforts to locate the perpetrators of the ambush.
