A total sum of N380 million was donated to the families of security men who lost their lives while protected people from the State between 2024 and 2025.

While presenting the symbolic verifications to the beneficiaries, Governor Alia said that the selfless sacrifices made by deceased security personnel were immeasurable.

The governor aliad the inspector General of Police (PGI) for his desire to ensure that peace returns to the State, as well as the Chief of Staff of Defense, Head of Naval Personnel and Commander, Civil Defense, for his commitment to peace and stability.

The governor also recognized the zeal demonstrated by President Tinubu to ensure that peace is restored to the State.

According to the governor, “we appreciate the sacrifice made by these fallen heroes to defend the territory of the State and ensure that citizens live in peace. It is a heavy burden, but we will continue this trip with you.

“His memories will continue to be a blessing to us and our state. I sat down and saw a mother breastfeeding her baby, which means that the child did not know his father because he paid the supreme price.

“We will continue to support their widows, and they will visit him from time to time. We ensure that their children continue their education through scholarships.

“We will not leave anyone behind. You will be on the list of state protocols. I assure you that the lives that sacrificed their loved ones will not be in vain because peace must return to the State.

“I appreciate the first lady and the IOM for its enormous support and assure the internal displaced people that the committee establishes is working to guarantee the equity in the distribution of the money given. We will not rest in our oars to ensure that they return to their ancestral homes.

“For each of the families, we begin with the sum of N5 million. For the wounded too, we will support them. Let’s support these families. Be kind to them, be charitable with them. Share with them and visit them and work with them. Give human kindness and a face towards them.

“The Government will continue to synergize with security agencies in the state to guarantee peace. Security agencies are not enemies of the State. They sacrifice a lot, especially their comfort, to give us comfort. There may be failures, but let’s talk about them. We do not ask them to leave.”

The governor also announced the award of scholarships to the children of the deceased personnel and also promised to help the widows that left behind to start the companies, even after the N5 million had been granted.

In his speech, the general director of National Security, Colonel Jacob Gbawuan (RTD), revealed that more than 76 security personnel lost their lives between 2024 and 2025, emphasizing that they sacrificed their lives as heroes to guarantee sanity and, as such, cannot be left behind.

For his part, the State Police Commissioner, Ifeanyi Emenari, described the gesture as “spectacular” and “unprecedented”, noting that it will bring help to families and motivation to all security agencies in the state.

Emenari said that the governor has continued in the first line in the battle against insecurity through consistent funds, emphasizing: “It does not end until it ends, until our desire is achieved by the State.”

He assured that security agents will further double their efforts and ensure that criminals and thugs do not operate in the state.

The CP appreciated President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his support for the well -being and the development of all security formations in the state and praised the Police Inspector, IGP EGBETOKUN, for his support and obstacle.
