The governor of the state of Gombe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has received a delegation of Chinese investors under the auspices of the company of the Foreign Engineering Group of China (COVEC), which have expressed a great interest in investing in key sectors of the state economy, including agriculture, energy and industrial development.

The meeting, held at the Lodge of the Governor of Gombe in Abuja, attended officials of the Nigerian Investment Promotion (NIPC).

COVEC indicated its intention to establish an agricultural park integrated into Gombe, with an approach to large -scale mechanization, agroprocessing processing, livestock development, renewable energy and export -oriented value chains.

The company plans to display infrastructure models and Chinese agricultural technologies of vanguard to boost rural transformation and sustainable development in the state.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Inuwa Yahaya assured investors that Gombe offers a favorable investment climate, backed by their strategic location, friendly policies with investors and abundant natural resources.

“Gombe is a viable destination for investment, particularly in agriculture, commerce and company. We are ready to receive investors and offer all the necessary incentives to encourage them,” said the governor.

He highlighted several key projects and infrastructure already in force to support such associations, including the Muhammadu Buhari industrial park of 1,000 hectares, located near the Dadinkowowa dam, which has a 40 megawatt hydroelectric energy plant.

Governor Yahaya also described the additional investment opportunities throughout the state, especially the Wawa-Hipage Pasture Reserve, which, together with the current cattle development zone, positions Gombe as a key player in the won value chain.

The robust water infrastructure of the state pointed out, anchored by three main dams: Dadinkowawa, Balanga and Cham. In particular, the Balanga dam, he explained, has the ability to water more than 11,000 hectares of farmland, which makes it ideal for large -scale irrigation and commercial agriculture.

In the area of ​​solid minerals, the governor promoted the richness of natural resources of the State, including substantial deposits of limestone, uranium and other minerals, which offer viable perspectives for industrial companies such as the manufacture of cements and mineral processing.

“We are fully prepared to partner with serious investors to take advantage of our resources given by God for the benefit of our people and our economy,” said the governor.

The leader of the COVEC delegation described the meeting as insightful and strategic, noting that he provided the team with a clear understanding of the agricultural and industrial potential of the state of Gombe.

He added that the commitment had established the basis for concrete investment decisions in the priority sectors.

The Chinese commercial leader indicated that the team would soon make a monitoring visit to the Gombe status to lay the foundations for large -scale investment operations.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Director of Strategic Services of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Abubakar Yarima, who represented the agency’s executive secretary, said that the projects of this scale could attract a substantial foreign direct investment, create thousands of jobs and involve small farmers in the agricultural value chain.

“The central location and Gombe enabling policies make it a natural center for agribusiness growth,” said Yarima.
