The governor of the state of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-olu, has unlocked the human rights lawyer, Festus Ogun, in X after a meeting with him in Lagos House, Marina, on Friday.

The lawyer, who had accused the violations of the governor of rights, announced the development in a mail In your X account on Saturday.

According to him, Sanwo-Ulu personally invited him to a brief meeting to address his complaints.

“The Governor of Lagos Babajide Sanwo-olu has unlocked me in X (Twitter). I briefly met with him yesterday in Lagos House Marina, for his invitation, to resolve my complaint of human rights violations. We will continue to hold the authorities, independently. Alute continues!” Ogun wrote.

Tribune online Reports that Ogun had filed a lawsuit against Sanwo-Polu in a Federal Superior Court of Lagos, accusing him of violating his fundamental rights by blocking him in his verified X account.

In the demand marked FHC/l/cs/1739/25, which he shared on Facebook, the lawyer said that the governor blocked him in his “constructive criticisms” and “demand for responsibility” of 2021 in the murders of #Endes of October 2020.

“In 2021, I noticed that the governor blocked me in his official Handle X @jidesanwoolu due to my constructive criticisms about his policies and demand for responsibility with respect to the #Endes massacre of October 2020”.

Ogun said the action has prevented him from accessing updates and information from the vital government.

“Blocking in X has prevented me from accessing public updates and receiving information on policies and governance in Lagos, which constitutes a violation of my right to receive information without interference,” he said.

In his origin call, he asked the court to declare the unconstitutional, arbitrary and discriminatory movement.
