An indigenous social club in Epe Town, Epe Ogunmodede Club, the state of Lagos, has asked the features and stakeholders in Obaship’s fight on Olu-Epe’s real feces of the Kingdom of EPE, who embrace peace and avoid all acts that could lead to a breakdown of law and order in the community.
The Olu-Epe stool was vacant after the death of Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, who died in May 2025 at the age of 86.
The president of the Club and the Alakoso of Epe Kingdom, lawyer omodele Ibrahim, appealed Sunday at Glover Hall, Lagos, during the conference of King Kosoko this year this year held to celebrate the legacy of the Lagos monarch.
Ibrahim praised the intervention of the Government of the State of Lagos while urging community members to wait for the result of the government’s decision and avoid acts capable of interrupting the peace and tranquility they enjoy in the area.
He reaffirmed the meaning of King Kosoko in the history of Lagos, describing it as “a large and brave monarch that was built on the cultural heritage of Lagos.” He pointed out that Eko-Epe was founded on love, strength and peace, values ​​that must be preserved for future generations.
“You can’t talk about the history of the Eko-Epe community without mentioning the advent of King Kosoko. That is the root of our cultural heritage in Lagos. His settlement laid the foundations for the development of our community, and we, as descendants, are testimonies of that legacy,” he said.
The president of the Ogunmodde Club encouraged young people to emulate the values ​​of courage, discipline and cultural pride of King Kosoko, while emphasizing that the founding parents of Eko-Epe placed education and well-being in the heart of community development, a tradition that the Epe Ogunmodede club is still committed to maintaining.
“Today, our duty is to ensure that our young people are supported by their educational activities while promoting peace, unity and development of human capital. That is the true spirit of our inheritance,” he added.
Strengthening this message, the Baamofin of the EPE kingdom, Barrimer Tunde Seriki, stressed the importance of peace and harmony during the Olu-Epe transition, noting that peace has always been a governing principle of the ancestors of the community.
Similarly, the high boss Wale Mogaji praised the organizers of the conference for reviving a strong sense of belonging between Kosoko’s descendants, describing it as a vital reminder of lineage, history and shared identity.
The commemorative conference of King Kosoko 2025 not only celebrated the lasting influence of the monarch in the history of Lagos, but also underlined the responsibility of the youngest generation of defending peace, preserving culture and strengthening community links.
