… warns against extortion
The federal government has reaffirmed its commitment to make technical education accessible to all Nigerian children by completely finance all federal technical universities (FTC) throughout the country.
Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Folasade Boriowo in a statement warned schools against the illegal accusation of students.
According to the declaration, the registration is completely free, and the government also covers the approved positions that include intern, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospect, identification cards, stationery, clubs and societies, medical, vocational, public services, security, website/electronic resistance, skool media, additional lessons and safe.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, also emphasized that the Government has the total registration cost to guarantee equal access.
He warned that no director or administrator may demand unauthorized payments of parents or guardians and ordered that circulars that reinforce this policy are sent to all schools and parents.

“This initiative reflects the renewed hope of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes education and technical and vocational training (TVET) as a path to the development of human capital. By equipping young people with employable skills, the Government seeks to strengthen national progress and competitiveness.
“No Nigerian child should be denied access to technical education due to illegal positions. By investing in education today, we are building a stronger and more self -sufficient Nigeria,” said Dr. Alausa.
The Ministry confirmed that monitoring mechanisms are in place to address infractions quickly. Interested parties are urged to safeguard free education policy and ensure that federal technical universities comply with their mandate to produce qualified graduates for national transformation.
Alausa clarified that, although registration and central expenses are completely covered, students from federal technical schools are expected to provide their guests, provide their personal items listed below.
“Personal items for TVET 1 students; Sunday clothes or jumat clothing (more scarf/hijab); 1 pair of bathroom shoes; 1 blanket; 2 white sheets 2 covers of pillows; 1 beds (house color); 1 pillow case (house color); White under skirts (for girls); Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Hairbrush, Comb, Detergent, Dettol;
“The approved registration articles are: 1 resma of A4 paper (80 grams). Cleaning materials, a hoe; a roof; a broom.”
However, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to make technical education accessible and affordable for each Nigerian child.
