President Bola Tinubu, on Friday in the state of Ibadan, Oyo, said that Nigeria’s economy has folded the corner forever, after the success of the economic reforms introduced by his administration more than two years ago.
He assured the Nigerians that they would soon begin to enjoy the fruits of the reforms and thank them for their patience and support.
The president spoke on Friday in the coronation of his friend and political ally, Majesty Imperial Oba (Sen) Abdul-Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Amaja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Special Advisor of the President, Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement in Abuja, cited President Tinubu saying that the reforms have succeeded due to the support, resistance and sacrifices of the Nigerians.
“Today I feel honored to bring the news that our economy has changed and now there is light at the end of the tunnel,” said the president.
The president chose Olubadan de Ibadan for his contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and for overcoming an illegal accusation as governor.
“Today is an exciting day for me, Kabiyesi. Happy birthday for you. It is also a happy day for you. As president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is a great honor to witness this story.
“All the things that we begin along with great expectations, and the story we share will come to happen. I pray to live a lot and be celebrated as one of the rare leaders in history to ascend the throne of their ancestors.

“I pray for God to grant you more years of joy, prosperity and relevance,” said the president.
President Tinubu said that Olubadan de Ibadanland played an important role in Nigeria’s political history, and had continued to be a pillar of hope through the experiences of political judgment, perseverance and resistance as former governor of the State.
He thanked all the previous governors and servants, the traditional rulers, for attending the coronation.
“It is a joy and great emotion for us. I appreciate everyone. As for me, this is the return home,” he said.
Governor Seyi Makinde presented to the new Olubadan, a former state governor and a senator, with the position of the position and a certificate.
Governor Makinde said that the coronation of Oba Amaja has finished disputes between families with respect to those who occupy traditional thrones.
“It is a great honor to celebrate the 44th Olubadan de Ibadanland. All the state’s sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora are proud of this historical moment. We must defend our tradition.
“I also mean that all the challenges associated with the traditional institution of Ibadan have now ended and have put us behind us. This means that the process is now sacrosanct,” said the governor.
The governor thanked the president for taking the time to honor the traditional ruler and the people.
“There is no more grudge about royalty in Ibadanland,” added the governor.
Oba Laraja said that his ascension to the throne reflected the race of life and the place of destiny.
“I accept not only the paraphernalia of the position, but also the responsibilities attended to it“ I want to sincerely appreciate my brother and friend, President Bola Tinubu, for honoring me and all the sons and daughters of Ibadanland with his visit here today.
“It is not by power, influence, connection or money that we are here today. I appreciate God for taking me to the end line from the starting point such as the Mogaji of the Arusa family with all inclusive, Isale Osi, Ibadan, in 1992 to date,” he added.
The Olubadan said that he would defend the confidence that the members and creators of Kings of the Council of Olubadan deposited in him while thanking the governor for ratifying his selection.
Some of the dignitaries in the event included the governor of the State of Ondo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the governor of the state of Ekiti, Biodun Oyebanji; and the governor of the state of Osun, Senator Adela Adelek. The former governors were Donald Duke of Cross River, Olagunsoye Oyinola of the State of Osun, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from the state of Kano, Ibikunle Amosun of the state of Ogun and Senator Gbenga Daniel of the state of Ogun.
President Tinubu was accompanied to the event by the Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu and president of the Federal Internal Income Service Zacch Addeji.
The Sultan of Sokoto and the co -chair of the National Council of Traditional Governors of Nigeria, Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammad Abubakar III, the Alaaafin de Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, were also at the ceremony.
