The Swedish audio transmission and media services provider, Spotify, has presented its list of the five main Afrobeats artists in the last 12 months, with the Nigerian star Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, emerging in number one.
The “Rush” singer described by Spotify as “the Afrobeats pop star” led the pack in front of the Nigerian singer winning Grammy Tems, who took second place.

American-Cameroonian sensation Libianca occupied third place, while Malaian-Ferench artist Aya Nakamura and the British-Nigerian singer Darkoo completed the first five.
In a remarkably absent of the classification, Tyla was Tyla in South Africa, despite her victories in the main Afrobeat prize ceremonies during the past year.
Spotify also launched its 5 best Afrobeat artists in Latin America, a list completely dominated by the Nigerians. Rema assured the number one place, Ayra Starr continued in the second, Ckay took third place, while Burna Boy and Wizkid arrived in the fourth and fifth place, respectively.
